حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُنَّ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا تَرْفَعِ امْرَأَةٌ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى يَرْفَعَ الرِّجَالُ رُءُوسَهُمْ» وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ أُزُرَهُمْ كَانَتْ قَصِيرَةً مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تَنْكَشِفَ عَوْرَاتُهُمْ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “O assembly of women, whoever among you believes in God and the Last Day, let no woman raise her head until the men have raised their heads.” That was because their waist-wraps were short, for fear that their private parts might become exposed.
