حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا شَاذُّ بْنُ الْفَيَّاضِ ثنا هَاشِمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ كِنَانَةَ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَبْكِي فَقَالَ «مَا يُبْكِيكِ يَا ابْنَةَ حُيَيٍّ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ وَحَفْصَةَ تَنَالَانِ مِنِّي وَتَقُولَانِ نَحْنُ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا نَحْنُ بَنَاتُ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ قَالَ أَفَلَا قُلْتِ كَيْفَ تَكُونَانِ خَيْرًا مِنِّي وَأَبِي هَارُونُ وَعَمِّي مُوسَى وَزَوْجِي مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ

✧ Ali, the messenger of Allah, entered while I was crying, so he said, "What is making you cry, O daughter of Huwayy?" I said, "It has reached me that Aisha and Hafsah are preferred over me and they say, 'We are better than her, we are the daughters of the cousin of the Messenger of Allah, and his wives.'" He said, "Did you not say, 'How can they be better than me when my father is Harun, my uncle is Musa, and my husband is Muhammad?"
