حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ ثنا أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُطِيعٍ الْعَدَوِيُّ عَنْ رُكَيْحِ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا لِي أَرَاكِ مُرْتَثَّةً؟» فَقُلْتُ شَرِبْتُ دَوَاءً أَسْتَحْشِي بِهِ قَالَ «وَمَا هُوَ؟» قُلْتُ الشُّبْرُمُ قَالَ «وَمَا لَكِ وَالشُّبْرُمِ؟» قَالَ «فَإِنَّهُ حَارٌّ نَارٌ عَلَيْكِ بِالسَّنَا وَالسَّنُّوتِ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمَا دَوَاءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me and said: “Why do I see you looking disheveled?” I said: “I drank a medicine to purge myself.” He said: “And what is it?” I said: “Shubrum.” He said: “What do you have to do with shubrum? It is hot like fire. Use senna and sanut, for in them is a cure for everything except death.”
