حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْغَنِيِّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ {يَوْمَئِذٍ يُوَفِّيهِمُ اللهُ دِينَهُمُ الْحَقَّ} §يُرِيدُ نُجَازِيهِمْ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ بِالْحَقِّ كَمَا يُجَازِي أَوْلِيَاءَهُ بِالثَّوَابِ كَذَلِكَ يُجَازِي أَعْدَاءَهُ بِالْعِقَابِ {وَيَعْلَمُونَ} «يُرِيدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» {أَنَّ اللهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ} «وَذَلِكَ
أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أُبَيِّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ يَشُكُّ فِي الدِّينِ وَكَانَ رَئِيسَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يُرِيدُ انْقَطَعَ الشَّكُّ عَنْهُ وَاسْتَيْقَنَ حَيْثُ لَا يَنْفَعُهُ الْيَقِينُ»
Translation

✧ 'Abdullah b. Ubayy b. Salul doubted the religion, and he was the chief of the hypocrites. He wanted the doubt to be removed from him and to be certain when certainty would not benefit him."
