حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ وَهِي امْرَأَتُهُ سُعْدَى قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ يَوْمًا طَلْحَةُ فَرَأَيْتُ مِنْهُ ثِقَلًا فَقُلْتُ مَا لَكَ لَعَلَّ رَابَكَ مِنَّا شَيْءٌ فَنُعْتِبَكَ؟ قَالَ «لَا وَلَنِعْمَ حَلِيلَةِ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ أَنْتِ وَلَكِنِ اجْتَمَعَ عِنْدِي مَالٌ وَلَا أَدْرِي كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِهِ» قَالَتْ وَمَا يَغُمُّكَ مِنْهُ؟ أُدْعُ قَوْمَكَ فَاقْسِمْهُ بَيْنَهُمْ فَقَالَ «يَا غُلَامُ عَلَيَّ قَوْمِي» فَسَأَلْتُ الْخَازِنَ كَمْ قَسَمَ؟ قَالَ أَرْبَعَمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ

✧ Ṭalḥa visited me one day and I noticed heaviness in him. I said, "What is the matter with you? Has something from us upset you, so that we may make amends?" He said, "No, and what a good wife of a Muslim man you are. But wealth has accumulated with me, and I do not know what to do with it." She said, "What distresses you about it? Call your people and divide it among them." He said, "O boy, bring my people to me." I then asked the treasurer how much he had distributed. He said, "Four hundred thousand."
