حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ رَأَيْتُكَ تُكَلِّمُ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيَّ وَيَدَكَ عَلَى مَعْرِفَةِ الْفَرَسِ فَقَالَ «رَأَيْتِيهِ؟» فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «ذَاكَ جِبْرِيلُ وَهُوَ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ» فَقُلْتُ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ مِنْ صَاحِبٍ وَدَخِيلٍ فَنِعْمَ الصَّاحِبُ وَنِعْمَ الدَّخِيلُ

✧ I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I saw you speaking with Dihya al-Kalbi while your hand was on the horse's mane.' He said, 'Did you see him?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'That is Jibril, and he conveys greetings of peace to you.' So I said, 'And upon him be peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; from such a companion and such a guest, how excellent a companion and how excellent a guest.'
