حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ
وَكَانَتْ رُقْيَةُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِنْدَ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي لَهَبٍ فَفَارَقَهَا فَتَزَوَّجَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رُقْيَةَ بِمَكَّةَ وَهَاجَرَتْ مَعَهُ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بِهِ كَانَ يُكَنَّى وَقَدِمَتْ مَعَهُ الْمَدِينَةَ وَتَخَلَّفَ عَنْ بَدْرٍ عَلَيْهَا بِإِذْنِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَضَرَبَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَعَ سُهْمَانِ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ قَالَ وَأَجْرِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «وَأَجْرُكَ»

✧ Ruqayyah bint Rasul Allah ﷺ was with Utbah b. Abi Lahab, but he parted from her. Uthman b. Affan married Ruqayyah in Makkah, and she emigrated with him to the land of Abyssinia. She bore him Abdullah, by whom he was given his kunya. She came with him to Madinah, and he stayed behind from Badr because of her, with the permission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allotted him a share along with the shares of the people of Badr. He said, 'And my reward, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'And your reward.'
