حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ ثنا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ

مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ قَطُّ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا قَائِمًا فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ فَكَذِّبْهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ قَالَ جَابِرٌ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَخْطُبُ ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ وَكَانَ يَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَيْنِ يَقْعُدُ بَيْنَهُمَا»

✧ I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ deliver a Friday sermon except standing. Whoever tells you that he sat, then declare him a liar, for he did not do that. Jabir said: The Prophet ﷺ would deliver the sermon, then sit, then stand and deliver the sermon; and he would deliver two sermons, sitting between them.
