حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ
أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ «لَمَّا حَضَرَتْهَا الْوَفَاةُ أَمَرَتْ عَلِيًّا فَوَضَعَ لَهَا غُسْلًا فَاغْتَسَلَتْ وَتَطَهَّرَتْ وَدَعَتْ بِثِيَابِ أَكْفَانِهَا فَأُتِيَتْ بِثِيَابٍ غِلَاظٍ خَشِنٍ وَلَبِسَتْهَا وَمَسَّتْ مِنَ الْحَنُوطِ وَأَمَرَتْ عَلِيًّا أَنْ لَا تُكْشَفَ إِذَا قُبِضَتْ وَأَنْ تُدْرَجَ كَمَا هِيَ فِي ثِيَابِهَا» فَقُلْتُ لَهُ هَلْ عَلَّمَتْ أَحَدًا فِعْلَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَثِيرَ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَكَتَبَ فِي أَطْرَافِ أَكْفَانِهِ يَشْهَدُ كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ

✧ When death came to Fatimah, she instructed Ali to prepare a washing place for her, so she washed and purified herself, and she called for her shroud garments. She was brought coarse, rough garments, and she put them on and touched some of the perfume. She instructed Ali not to uncover her when she died and to wrap her as she was in her garments. I said to him: Did she teach anyone to do that? He said: Yes, Kathir b. Abbas, and he wrote on the edges of his shroud: Kathir b. Abbas bears witness that there is no god but God.
