حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيُّ ح وحَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَ ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَا ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي حَسَنِ وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا عَقَبِيًّا قَالَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ وَنَسِيَ نَعْلَيْهِ فَأَخَذَهُمَا رَجُلٌ فَوَضَعَهُمَا تَحْتَهُ فَرَجَعَ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ نَعْلِي فَقَالَ الْقَوْمُ مَا رَأَيْنَاهُمَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ هُوَ ذِهْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كَيْفَ بروعةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا صَنَعْتُهُ لَاعِبًا فَقَالَ «كَيْفَ بروعةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا»

✧ From his grandfather Abu Hasan, who was a participant in Badr and a Companion of the 'Aqabah pledge, who said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man got up and forgot his sandals. Another man took them and placed them under himself. The man came back and said: "My sandals." The people said: "We have not seen them." A man said: "Here they are." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What about frightening a believer?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I did it only in jest." He said: "What about frightening a believer?" two or three times.
