حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي حَدْرَدٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً عَلَى صَدَاقِ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ فَأَتَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ «لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بَطَحَانَ مَا زِدْتُمْ»

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; he had married a woman with a dowry of two hundred dirhams. Then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said, 'If you were to scoop from Bathan, you would not add more.'
