حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ «رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ فَلَا يَتَكَلَّمُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ خِطْبَةً أُخْرَى فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَطَبَ قَاعِدًا فَقَدْ كَذَبَ»

✧ I heard Jābir b. Samurah say: “I saw the Prophet ﷺ deliver the Friday sermon standing, then sit without speaking, then stand and deliver another sermon. So whoever tells you that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon sitting has lied.”
