حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ {مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يُقْرِضُ اللهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا} قَالَ أَبُو الدَّحْدَاحِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ اللهَ يُرِيدُ مِنَّا الْقَرْضَ قَالَ «نَعَمْ يَا أَبَا الدَّحْدَاحِ» قَالَ أَرِنِي يَدَكَ فَنَاوَلَهُ يَدَهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ أَقْرَضْتُ رَبِّي حَائِطِي وَفِي حَائِطِي سِتَّمِائَةٍ نَخْلَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَ إِلَى الْحَائِطِ فَنَادَى يَا أُمَّ الدَّحْدَاحِ وَهِيَ فِي الْحَائِطِ فَقَالَتْ لَبَّيْكَ فَقَالَ اخْرُجِي فَقَدْ أَقْرَضْتُهُ رَبِّي

✧ When the verse {Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan} was revealed, Abu al-Dahdah said: "O Messenger of Allah, does Allah want a loan from us?" He said: "Yes, O Abu al-Dahdah." He said: "Show me your hand." He extended his hand to him, and he said: "I have loaned my Lord my wall, and in my wall are six hundred palm trees." Then he went to the wall and called out: "O Umm al-Dahdah," while she was in the wall. She said: "At your service." He said: "Leave, for I have loaned it to my Lord."
