حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَسَوِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا مِهْرَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى عَنْ يَعْلَى قَالَ

حَضَرَتْ صَلَاةٌ مَكْتُوبَةٌ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَّنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَا يَتَقَدَّمُنَا فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَهْلٍ مَا دَعَاهُ إِلَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ كَانَ الْمَكَانُ ضَيِّقًا

✧ A prescribed prayer was due while we were with the Messenger of God ﷺ. The Messenger of God ﷺ led us, and he did not advance ahead of us. I said to Abu Sahl, “What prompted him to do that?” He said, “The place was narrow.”
