✧ He raided Khaybar with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and they were struck by hunger. They found domestic donkeys there, so the people slaughtered some of them. The Prophet ﷺ was informed, so he ordered 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf, who called out among the people: "The meat of domestic donkeys is not lawful for anyone who bears witness that I am the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So they overturned their pots with what was in them. They found onions and garlic in their gardens and ate from them while they were hungry, and they suffered. When the people went to the mosque, the smell of the mosque was onions and garlic. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever eats from this foul plant should not come near us."
