✧ Hani bin Niyyar bin Amr bin Ubaid bin Kilab bin Duhman bin Ghanim bin Dhibyan bin Kahil bin Dihil bin Baliyy bin Amr bin al-Haf bin Quda'ah, Abu Burdah al-Balawi, Halif of Banu Harithah bin al-Khazraj, Aqabi, Badri and he is the uncle of Bara' bin Azib.

حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ بْنَ نِيَارٍ ضَحَّى قَبْلَ

أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ بِضَحِيَّتِي إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَذَبَحْتُهَا قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ضَحِّ بِغَيْرِهَا فَالْتَمَسْتُ مِنَ الْمَعْزِ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ فَأَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُضَحِّيَ بِجَذَعٍ مِنَ الضَّأْنِ»

✧ That the Messenger of God ﷺ led the prayer. Then I asked the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: I went out with my sacrificial animal to the prayer place and slaughtered it before the prayer. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Sacrifice another instead." I looked for one among the goats but did not find any, so the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded me to sacrifice a jadha' from the sheep.
