حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ
خَطَبْتُ جَارِيَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «رَأَيْتَهَا؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ «فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا»

✧ I proposed to a girl from the Anṣār and mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ. He said, “Have you seen her?” I said, “No.” He said, “Then look at her, for that is more likely to create affection between you.”
