حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْمَعَافِرِيُّ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِرَفِيعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ اشْتَرَى جَارِيَةً بَرْبَرِيَّةً بِمِائَتَيْ دِينَارٍ فَبَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَدْرِيِّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا فَوَهَبَ لَهُ الْجَارِيَةَ الْبَرْبَرِيَّةَ فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُ قَالَ «هَذِهِ مِنَ الْمَجُوسِ الَّتِي نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْهُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا» فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ رَجُلًا فَحَدَّثَنِي أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَهُ «أَنَّ عَمًّا لَهُ مَاتَ بِالْمَغْرِبِ وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا»

✧ That a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ bought a Berber slave girl for two hundred dinars, then he sent her to Abu Muhammad al-Badri, one of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ who had been at Badr, and he gave him the Berber slave girl as a gift. When she came to him, he said: 'This is one of the Magians whom the Prophet ﷺ forbade, along with those who associate partners with Allah.' I narrated this hadith to a man, and he told me that Yahya b. Sa'id narrated to him that an uncle of his died in the Maghrib and he had been at Badr.
