حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَارِمٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَيُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ قَالَ
إِنِّي لَفِي الرَّكَبِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَى عَيْنُهُ عَلَى سَخْلَةٍ مَنْبُوذَةٍ أَلْقُوهَا فَقَالَ «أَتَرَوْنَ هَذِهِ هَانَتْ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا» ؟ قَالُوا مِنْ هَوَانِهَا أَلْقُوهَا قَالَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لِلدُّنْيَا أَهْوَنُ عَلَى اللهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا»

✧ I was in the riding party with the Messenger of God ﷺ when his eye fell upon a discarded lamb that they had cast aside. He said, "Do you consider this worthless to its owners?" They said, "It is because of its worthlessness that they cast it aside." He said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, the world is more worthless to God than this is to its owners."
