حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْمُسْتَوْرِدَ يَقُولُ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ «وَاللهِ مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مِثْلُ مَا يَجْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ إِصْبَعَهُ فِي الْبَحْرِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُهَا فَلْيَنْظُرْ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ؟»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and indicated with his finger: “By Allah, the world compared to the Hereafter is only like what one of you brings back when he puts his finger in the sea and then takes it out; let him see what he brings back.”
