حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ بَهْرَامَ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْوَاقِدِيُّ قَالَ مَاتَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَسَبْعِينَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ

«رَأَيْتُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ بُرْدًا وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ أَبَانُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ وَهُوَ وَالِي الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَاتَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ وَكَانَ يُكْنَى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ وَكَانَ قَدْ ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ»

✧ "I saw on his bier a striped cloak, and Aban b. 'Uthman, who was governor of Madinah, prayed over him. Jabir b. 'Abd Allah died at the age of ninety-four, and he was given the kunyah Abu 'Abd Allah, and he had lost his sight, may Allah have mercy on him."
