حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ وَمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ أَنَّ أَبَا سِنَانٍ الدُّؤَلِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ
أَنَّهُ عَادَ عَلِيًّا ؓ فِي شَكْوَةٍ اشْتَكَاهَا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ لَقَدْ تَخَوَّفْنَا عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا الْحَسَنِ فِي شَكْوِكَ هَذَا فَقَالَ وَلَكِنِّي وَاللهِ مَا تَخَوَّفْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي مِنْهُ؛ لِأَنِّي سَمِعْتُ الصَّادِقَ الْمَصْدُوقَ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّكَ سَتُضْرَبُ ضَرْبَةً هَهُنَا وَضَرْبَةً هَهُنَا» وَأَشَارَ إِلَى صُدْغَيْهِ «فَيَسِيلُ دَمُهَا حَتَّى يَخْضِبَ لِحْيَتَكَ وَيَكُونَ صَاحِبُهَا أَشْقَاهَا كَمَا كَانَ عَاقِرُ النَّاقَةِ أَشْقَى ثَمُودَ»

✧ He visited Ali ؓ during an illness he was suffering from. I said to him, "We feared for you, O Abu al-Hasan, in this illness of yours." He said, "But by Allah, I did not fear for myself from it, because I heard the truthful, the believed one ﷺ say: 'You will be struck with a blow here and a blow here'—and he pointed to his temples—'and its blood will flow until it dyes your beard, and the one who strikes it will be its most wretched, just as the hamstringer of the she-camel was the most wretched of Thamud.'"
