حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ السَّلَعِيُّ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ» يُؤْتَى بِالطَّعَامِ فَإِذَا كَانَ صَدَقَةً لَا يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا وَإِنْ كَانَ هَدِيَّةً أَكَلَ مِنْهَا

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ b. al-Walīd al-Narsī
  2. Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná
  3. Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb al-Salaʿī
  4. Bahz b. Ḥakīm from his father from his grandfather

✧ Food would be brought to the Prophet ﷺ. If it was charity, he would not eat from it, and if it was a gift, he would eat from it.
