حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَمْشِي إِذْ أَصَابَ إِصْبَعَهُ حَجَرٌ قَالَ فَدُمِيَتْ فَقَالَ «مَا أَنْتِ إِلَّا إِصْبَعٌ دُمِيتِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مَا لَقِيتِ»

Translation

✧ While the Prophet ﷺ was walking, a stone hit his finger and it bled. He said, "You are nothing but a finger that has bled, and in the path of Allah what you have encountered."
