حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَوَّاسُ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ يُوسُفَ

أَنَّهُ رَأَى مُعَاوِيَةَ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَقَامَ فِي الثِّنْتَيْنِ فَسَبَّحَ النَّاسُ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ قُومُوا فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ السَّلَامِ وَسَجَدَهُمَا النَّاسُ مَعَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ دَاخَلَهُ شَكٌّ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ»

✧ He saw Muʿāwiyah lead the people in prayer, and he stood up after two rakʿahs. The people glorified Allah (to alert him), but he gestured to them to stand up. When he finished his prayer, he performed two prostrations before the salutation, and the people prostrated with him. Then he said: O people, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: �Whoever is assailed by doubt in his prayer should perform two prostrations while sitting.�
