حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْوُحَاظِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ كَانَ §إِذَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ قَالَ
مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ حَتَّى يَنْتَهِيَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ فَيَقُولَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ»

✧ He says the like of what he says until he reaches his saying “Hayya 'ala al-salah, hayya 'ala al-falah,” and he says “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.” Then he says the like of what he says. Then he said: “This is how I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say.”
