حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ يَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ قَالَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ فَإِذَا قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ قَالَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ فَإِذَا قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِ

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ heard the muezzin say “Allahu Akbar,” he said the like of his words. When he said “Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah,” he said the like of his words. When he said “Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasul Allah” twice, he said the like of his words.
