حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زُغْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَفِي يَدِهِ قُصَّةٌ مِنْ شَعْرٍ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذَا وَيَقُولُ «إِنَّمَا عُذِّبَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ حِينَ اتَّخَذَتْ مِثْلَ هَذِهِ نِسَاؤُهُمْ»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ forbidding the like of this and saying: "The Children of Israel were punished only when their women adopted the like of this."
