حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْمُطَرِّفِ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ

خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ فَقَالَ «هَذَا يَوْمٌ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكُمْ صِيَامُهُ وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَصُومَ فَلْيَصُمْ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us on the day of 'Ashura and said, "This is a day whose fasting is not prescribed for you, and I am fasting. Whoever wishes to fast may fast, and whoever wishes to break it may break it."
