حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا أَبِي ثنا الْحُرُّ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ حَدَّثَنِي نَصْرُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَرِّ

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ مَالِكًا وَعَمَّيْهِ قَيْسًا وَعُبَيْدًا بَنِيَّ الْخَشْخَاشِ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَشَكَوْا إِلَيْهِ إِغَارَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَمِّهِمْ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَكَتَبَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هَذَا كِتَابٌ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِمَالِكٍ وَعُبَيْدٍ وَقَيْسٍ بَنِيَّ الْخَشْخَاشِ» إِنَّكُمْ آمِنُونَ مُسْلِمُونَ عَلَى دِمَائِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ لَا تُؤْخَذُونَ بِجَرِيرَةِ غَيْرِكُمْ وَلَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا أَيْدِيكُمْ

Translation

  4. Ḥuṣayn b. Abū al-Ḥar

✧ That his father Malik and his paternal uncles Qays and Ubayd, the sons of al-Khashkhash, came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him about a man from their cousins raiding the people. So the Messenger of God ﷺ wrote for them: "This is a letter from Muhammad, the Messenger of God ﷺ, to Malik, Ubayd, and Qays, the sons of al-Khashkhash. You are granted security as Muslims for your blood and your property. You will not be taken to account for the crime of others, and none will commit a crime against you except your own hands."
