حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ «إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا» فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي قِلَابَةَ فَأَيْنَ الْقِرَاءَةُ؟ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said to him and to a companion of his, "When the prayer time arrives, then give the call to prayer (adhan), then say the iqamah, and let the older of you lead the prayer." I said to Abu Qilabah, "Then where does the recitation come in?" He said, "They were close in age."
