حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حَازِمٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ

أَنَّ أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ أُصِيبَ بَصَرُهُ قَبْلَ قَتْلِ عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي مَتَّعَنِي بِبَصَرِي فِي حَيَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ اللهُ الْفِتْنَةَ فِي عِبَادِهِ كَفَّ بَصَرِي عَنْهَا»

✧ Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi lost his sight before the killing of 'Uthman, and he said: "Praise be to Allah who granted me my sight during the life of the Prophet ﷺ; then when Allah willed the trial for His servants, He withheld my sight from it."
