✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon during the Farewell Pilgrimage on the middle of the days of Tashriq, saying: “Is this day sacred?” They said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Indeed your sanctity among yourselves is like the sanctity of this day of yours. Shall I tell you who the Muslim is? The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe. Shall I tell you who the believer is? The one whom the Muslims trust with their lives and their wealth. And shall I tell you who the emigrant is? The emigrant is the one who abandons the evil deeds that Allah has forbidden him. And the believer is inviolable to the believer, like the sanctity of this day: his flesh is forbidden to him to eat it in his absence and to backbite him; his honor is forbidden to him to violate it; his face is forbidden to him to slap it; and harming him is forbidden to him to harm him; and it is forbidden to him to push him with a shove that knocks him down.”
