حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ ثنا قُدَامَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ عَنْ أبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا كَعْبُ بْنَ عُجْرَةَ النَّاسُ غَادِيَانِ فَمُشْتَرٍ نَفْسَهُ فَمُعْتِقُهَا وَبَائِعٌ نَفْسَهُ فَمُهْلِكُهَا»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: “O Ka'b b. Ujrah, people go forth in the morning: one who buys his own soul and sets it free, and one who sells his own soul and destroys it.”
