حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ عَنْ أبِيهِ عَنْ كَعْبٍ قَالَ
خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ سَبْعَةٌ ثَلَاثَةٌ عَرَبًا وَأَرْبَعَةٌ مَوَالِينَا فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ بَعْضِ حُجَرِهِ حَتَّى جَلَسَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ «مَا يُجْلِسُكُمْ هَهُنَا؟» قُلْنَا نَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَنَكَتَ بِأَصَابِعِهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ نَكَسَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ رَفَعَ إِلَيْنَا رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا يَقُولُ رَبُّكُمْ ﷻ؟» قُلْنَا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ لِوَقْتِهَا فَأَقَامَ حَدَّهَا كَانَ لَهُ عَهْدٌ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ الصَّلَوَاتِ لِوَقْتِهَا وَيُقِمْ حَدَّهَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ عِنْدِي عَهْدٌ إِنْ شِئْتُ أَدْخَلْتُهُ النَّارَ وَإِنْ شِئْتُ أَدْخَلْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came out to us while we were seven—three Arabs and four freedmen. The Prophet ﷺ came out to us from one of his chambers until he sat with us and said, “What has seated you here?” We said, “We are waiting for the prayer.” He tapped the ground with his fingers, then bowed his head for a while, then raised his head toward us and said, “Do you know what your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, says?” We said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “He says: Whoever prays the prayers at their times and establishes their limits has a covenant from Me that I will admit him to Paradise. Whoever does not pray the prayers at their times and does not establish their limits has no covenant with Me. If I will, I will enter him into the Fire, and if I will, I will enter him into Paradise.”
