حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أنا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَة قَالَ §قَمِلْتُ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ

أَنَّ كُلَّ شَعْرَةٍ مِنْ رَأْسِي عَلَيْهَا الْقَمْلُ مِنْ أَصْلِهَا إِلَى فَرْعِهَا فَأَمَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حِينَ رَآنِي أَنْ أَحْلِقَ وَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فَقَالَ «أَطْعِمْ سِتَّةَ مَسَاكِينٍ بِثَلَاثَةِ آصُعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ»

✧ Every hair on my head had lice from its root to its tip. When the Prophet ﷺ saw me, he commanded me to shave. Then this verse was revealed, and he said, "Feed six poor persons with three sa's of dates."
