حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ثنا وُهَيْبٌ عَنْ دَاوُدَ عَنْ عَامِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ قَالَ

مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَعَلَيَّ وَفْرَةٌ مِنْ أَصْلِ كُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ إِلَى فَرْعِهَا قَمْلٌ وَصِئْبَانٌ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ هَذَا لَأَذًى» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «فَاحْلِقْ وَاذْبَحْ أَوْ صُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ أَوْ تَصَدَّقْ بِثَلَاثَةِ آصُعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ مَسَاكِينٍ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me in the year of al-Hudaybiyah while I had flowing hair, and from the base of every hair to its tip there were lice and nits. He said, "This is indeed a harm." I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Shave it and slaughter, or fast three days, or give three sa's of dates in charity to six poor persons."
