حَدَّثَنَا خَلْفُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْعُكْبَرِيُّ ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا فُتِحَتْ مِصْرُ فَاسْتَوْصُوا بِالْقِبْطِ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ لَهُمْ ذِمَّةً وَرَحِمًا» يَعْنِي أَنَّ أُمَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ كَانَتْ مِنْهُمْ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "When Egypt is conquered, treat the Copts well, for they have protection and kinship," meaning that the mother of Ishmael was one of them.
