حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَطِيعِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ

كَعْبٌ «شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَقَبَةَ وَلَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا إِلَّا غَزْوَةَ بَدْرٍ وَلَمْ يُعَاتِبْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَحَدًا تَخَلَّفَ عَنْ بَدْرٍ إِنَّمَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُرِيدُ عِيرَ قُرَيْشٍ» فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

✧ Ka'b said: I was present with the Messenger of God ﷺ at al-'Aqabah, and I did not stay behind from any expedition he undertook except the expedition of Badr, and the Messenger of God ﷺ did not rebuke anyone who stayed behind from Badr. The Messenger of God ﷺ had set out only intending the caravan of Quraysh. Then he mentioned the hadith.
