حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وُهَيْبٍ الْغَزِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيُّ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَكَانَ إِمَامَنَا بِعَسْقَلَانَ مَاتَ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَثَمَانِينَ وَمِائَةٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي إِيَاسُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي قُرَّةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ الْحَيَاءُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ الدِّينِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَلْ هُوَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ»

Translation

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ when modesty was mentioned in his presence. They said, “O Messenger of God, is modesty part of the religion?” The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Rather, it is the entire religion.”
