al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 16019

✧ Qais bin Asim al-Minqari, and he is Qais bin Asim bin Sinan bin Khalid bin Mundhir bin Ubaid bin Muqais, and the name of Muqais is only called Muqais because he hesitated when the sons of Saad bin Amr bin Kaab bin Saad bin Zaid Manat bin Tamim bin Ilyas bin Mudar bin Nizar bin Ma'd bin Adnan formed an alliance.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ عَنْ خَلِيفَةَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ قَيْسَ بْنَ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنِّي وَأَدَتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ بِنْتًا أَو ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ بِنْتًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَعْتِقْ عَنْ كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ نَسَمَةً»

✧ To the Prophet ﷺ: I buried alive in the Jāhiliyyah twelve daughters, or thirteen daughters. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Free a life for each one of them."
