حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَتَرَكَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَهُمْ جَمِيعًا عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «فَجَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ ثُمَّ أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ الثُّلُثَ وَأَرَقَّ الثُّلُثَيْنِ»

✧ A man from the Ansar died leaving six slaves, with no property other than them, and he freed them all at his death. That was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, so he divided them into three portions, then cast lots among them, and freed one-third and kept two-thirds enslaved.
