حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا حَيْدُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا صِلَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا أَشْعَثُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ اسْتُعْمِلَ الْحَكَمُ الْغِفَارِيُّ عَلَى خُرَاسَانَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ فَطَلَبَ الْحَكَمَ حَتَّى لَقِيَهُ فِي الرَّحَبَةِ فَقَالَ
مَا زِلْتُ أَطْلُبُكَ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ إِنَّكَ بُعِثْتَ عَلَى أَمَرٍ عَظِيمٍ أَتَذْكُرُ يَوْمَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ عِمْرَانُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ حَسِبْتُ نَسِيتَ

✧ I have been seeking you since today. You have been sent with a great matter. Do you remember the day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah'? He said: 'Yes.' Imran said: 'Allahu akbar. I thought you had forgotten.'
