حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحَرِيشِ وَالْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ قَالَا ثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى الطَّائِفِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَتَى هَوَازِنَ فِي اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا فَقُتِلَ مِنَّا مِنْ أَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ مِثْلُ مَا قُتِلَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كَفًّا مِنْ بَطْحَاءَ فَرَمَاهُ فِي وُجُوهِنَا فَهُزِمْنَا

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came to Hawazin with twelve thousand. On the day of Hunayn, from our people of al-Ta'if, there were killed as many as were killed of Quraysh on the day of Badr. The Prophet ﷺ took a handful of pebbles and threw it in our faces, and we were defeated.
