✧ I attended a feast in which Abu Mas‘ud and Qurazah b. Ka‘b were present, and slave girls were singing. I said, “Glory be to Allah! Do you do this while you are companions of Muhammad ﷺ and people of Badr?” They said, “We were granted a dispensation for singing at weddings and for weeping without wailing.”
