✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during the Farewell Pilgrimage: 'Indeed, the friends of Allah are those who pray and who establish the five prayers that Allah has prescribed for His servants, fast Ramadan and seek reward for his fasting, give the zakat with a good heart, seeking reward for it, and avoid the major sins that Allah has forbidden.' A man from his companions said, 'O Messenger of Allah, how many are the major sins?' He said, 'They are nine. The greatest of them is associating partners with Allah, killing a believer without right, fleeing on the day of battle, accusing a chaste woman, sorcery, consuming the wealth of an orphan, consuming usury, disobedience to Muslim parents, and violating the Sacred House, your qiblah, whether alive or dead. No man dies who has not committed these major sins, and who establishes prayer and gives zakat, except that he will accompany Muhammad ﷺ in the midst of Paradise, whose gates are folding doors of gold.'
