حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُنِيرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ نُسَيٍّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَجِدُكُمْ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ أُمَّةٌ حَمَّادُونَ مَوْلِدُ نَبِيِّهِمْ مَكَّةُ وَهِجْرَتُهُ طَيْبَةُ وَجِهَادُهُمْ بِالشَّامِ يَأْتَزِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْصَافِهِمْ وَيُظْهِرُونَ أَطْرَافَهُمْ لَهُمْ دَوِيٌّ بِاللَّيْلِ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ كَدَوِيِّ النَّحْلِ فِي غَارَاتِهَا يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرٌّ مُحَجَّلُونَ

✧ That he said: 'O Messenger of God, we find you in the Book of God: a community that praises much, the birthplace of their Prophet is Makkah, his emigration is to Taybah, and their striving is in Syria. They tie their lower garments at their waists and expose their limbs. They have a hum at night in the mosques like the hum of bees in their hives. On the Day of Resurrection they will come with radiant faces and limbs.'
