حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي حُيَيٌّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
لَمَّا غَزَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَزْوَةَ تَبُوكَ أَدْلَجَ بِهِمْ حَتَّى كَانَ مَعَ السَّحَرِ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ بِهِمْ سَحَرًا فَقَالَ «يَا بِلَالُ احْرُسْ لَنَا الصَّلَاةَ» قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولِ اللهِ فَغَلَبَ بِلَالًا النَّوْمُ فَرَقَدَ فَنَامُوا حَتَّى أَوْجَعَتْهُمُ الشَّمْسُ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ ﷺ فَتَيَمَّمَ فَقَالَ لِبِلَالٍ «أَذِّنْ وَأَقِمْ» فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ الْآنَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَصَلُّوا بَعْدَ مَا أَصْبَحُوا

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ went on the expedition of Tabuk, he traveled with them through the night until it was near dawn, then he stopped with them at dawn and said: “O Bilal, guard the prayer for us.” He said, “Yes, O Messenger of God.” But sleep overcame Bilal and he slept, and they slept until the sun pained them. The Messenger of God ﷺ got up and performed dry ablution, then said to Bilal, “Give the call to prayer and the iqamah.” Bilal said, “Now?” He said, “Yes.” So they prayed after the morning had come.
