حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ قَالَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُيَيٌّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الصِّيَامُ وَالْقُرْآنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَشْفَعَانِ لِلْعَبْدِ يَقُولُ الصِّيَامُ رَبِّ مَنَعْتُهُ الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ بِالنَّهَارِ فَشَفِّعْنِي فِيهِ وَيَقُولُ الْقُرْآنُ رَبِّ مَنَعْتُهُ النَّوْمَ بِاللَّيْلِ فَشَفِّعْنِي فِيهِ فَيُشَفَّعَانِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Fasting and the Quran will intercede for the servant on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting says: ‘Lord, I prevented him from food and drink during the day, so let me intercede for him.’ And the Quran says: ‘Lord, I prevented him from sleep at night, so let me intercede for him.’ Then they will be allowed to intercede.”
