حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ قَالَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُيَيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَهُمْ يُخَنْدِقُونَ حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَتَنَاوَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَأْسَ فَضَرَبَ بِهِ ضَرْبَةً فَقَالَ «بِهَذِهِ الضَّرْبَةِ يَفْتَحُ اللهُ كُنُوزَ الرُّومِ» ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ الثَّانِيَةَ وَقَالَ «بِهَذِهِ يَفْتَحُ اللهُ كُنُوزَ فَارِسَ» ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ «بِهَذِهِ الضَّرْبَةِ يَأْتِي اللهُ بِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ أَنْصَارًا وَأَعْوَانًا»

✧ On the day of the Trench, while they were digging a trench around Madinah, the Messenger of God ﷺ took hold of a pickaxe and struck with it one blow, and said: “With this blow, God will open the treasures of the Romans.” Then he struck a second blow and said: “With this, God will open the treasures of Persia.” Then he struck a third blow and said: “With this blow, God will bring the people of Yemen as supporters and helpers.”
